Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MapSoar collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use mapsoar.com and related services.

1. Information We Collect

When you request an audit or consultation, we may collect your name, business email address, optional phone number, website URL, business name, primary location or service area, selected service, enquiry message, associated audit-report link, consent record, and other business information you choose to provide. We may also collect technical and usage information such as browser type, device information, IP address, referring page, and feature interactions.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to generate and deliver audits and reports, securely record consultation requests, send customer confirmations and owner notifications, evaluate local visibility and conversion signals, contact you about requested services, respond to enquiries, improve MapSoar, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and provide support.

3. AI Processing

MapSoar may use third-party artificial intelligence services to generate summaries, recommendations, and action plans from audit data. Only information reasonably needed for these functions may be processed. AI-generated outputs may contain errors or omissions and are informational rather than professional advice.

4. Google Places and Business Data

MapSoar may use Google Places or related Google Maps services to identify businesses and provide local competitive insights. Business-profile information may be processed temporarily, while identifiers such as Place IDs may be retained where appropriate instead of storing full Places content long term. Google-sourced information may change and remains subject to Google’s applicable terms and policies.

MapSoar is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

5. Analytics and Similar Technologies

MapSoar uses analytics tools, including PostHog, to understand page views, audit usage, report views, button interactions, technical performance, and product behavior. We aim to avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through analytics events. Cookies, local storage, or similar technologies may support service functionality, analytics, preferences, and abuse prevention.

6. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide reports and services, maintain security, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and improve MapSoar. Generated reports may remain available through their report URLs. Information that is no longer needed may be deleted or anonymized.

7. Third-Party Providers

MapSoar relies on providers for hosting, database infrastructure, AI processing, Google Maps or Places data, analytics, communications, security, and future payment processing. These providers may process information according to their own policies and applicable contractual obligations.

8. Data Sharing

MapSoar does not sell personal information for money. We may share information with providers needed to operate MapSoar, when required by law, to protect against fraud or security threats, in connection with a business transfer, or with your consent.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about how your data is processed. Contact hello@mapsoar.com to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

11. California Privacy Notice

To the extent MapSoar is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents may have rights regarding identifiers, internet activity, commercial information, business or professional information, submitted location information, and inferences created from audit signals.

These categories may be used to provide audits, AI-assisted recommendations, local competitive insights, analytics, support, security, billing where applicable, and legal compliance.

Subject to applicable law and exceptions, California consumers may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing where applicable, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable, and exercise their rights without unlawful discrimination.

12. California Privacy Request Process

California residents may submit requests to hello@mapsoar.com. Please identify the type of request and provide enough information for us to understand it. We may verify identity using information already associated with the request or other details reasonably necessary for verification.

Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We may request evidence of authority and may separately verify the consumer’s identity. Verified requests will be handled within the period required by applicable law, including legally permitted extensions where needed.

13. California Appeals and CPPA

If a California privacy request is denied or only partially fulfilled, you may ask MapSoar to reconsider by emailing hello@mapsoar.com with the original request information and the reason for appeal. We aim to review appeals within 30 calendar days unless another period is required by applicable law.

Consumers may first use MapSoar’s internal privacy-request and appeal process described above; contacting the California Privacy Protection Agency is a separate option and is not required before or after using MapSoar’s own process. Submitting a complaint to an agency does not guarantee investigation, resolution, or enforcement action.

14. Children’s Privacy

MapSoar is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information where prohibited by applicable law.

15. International Processing

MapSoar and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards may be used for cross-border processing.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MapSoar develops or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
